Instructor: Ian Harvey has been a massage therapist since 2006, and is a graduate of the Florida School of Massage. Ian teaches a style of massage that’s a mix of myofascial release and good old Swedish. Think of it as being slowly ironed out, while still having a sense of flow. You can find his online tutorials on YouTube under the name Massage Sloth.
Class Description: Join Ian for a two day workshop aimed at bridging the gap between myofascial release and Swedish massage. This includes an introduction to myofascial work, and lots of demonstration of how to slow your sessions down and make them more profound. If you already do myofascial work, this class will help you incorporate more easy, soothing movement into your repertoire. Expect to learn specific techniques for the neck, hips, and back, as well as broad strategies for working in a pain-free and sustainable way. Please bring loose clothes, a set of sheets, a face cradle cover, and your favorite oil or lotion. If you are driving, please bring your table and face cradle.
Covid precautions: All students are required to wear a mask while indoors. If you are feeling at all unwell, I ask that you stay home and recover, and a full refund will be issued.
