Massage Technique Video: “Finger Jiu-Jitsu”

Technique Tuesday! Today we’re doing some finger jiu-jitsu: manipulating the fingers in such a way that you can seamlessly transition between them during your massage. I also demonstrate a few different ways of gripping the hand to facilitate passive stretching during techniques. Fun! Let me know what you think in the comments.

  1. Ooh. I’ve never done that thumb war grip. When I want super control of the wrist & forearm, I use more of an arm wresting-style, palm-to-palm thing. It slides really easy into using my whole palm to push the client’s palm & fingers back into extension, too.
But I need to try this thumb-war thing, I haven’t found a grip I like for flexion there. Woot!

    1. Arm wrestling grip?! That’s genius. Do you ever clasp hands like that, lock eyes, and nod? And then the credits roll?

      But seriously, that sounds excellent.
